How to find and export your Trello data.

Trello does not show a card total or storage used. The most complete count comes from a Workspace export on Premium or Enterprise, which holds a CSV for every board. Report cards as records.

Where Trello shows how much you have.

  1. On Premium or Enterprise, sign in as a Workspace admin.
  2. From Trello home, select the Workspace, open Settings and select Export. Create an export that includes archived cards.
  3. Count the card rows across the board CSV files in the download.
  4. On Free or Standard, export each board to JSON from the board menu under Print, Export, and Share and count the cards in each file.

Plan and role. Workspace exports are limited to Workspace admins on Premium and Enterprise. Any board member on any plan can export a single board to JSON.

What to report on the Polyshares intake.

Report Trello in records. The intake also asks how many years the company has used it and how many seats it has.

Report total cards as records, including archived cards if they hold real history. For years in use, use the year your team started its oldest board. Seats are the paid members of your Workspace.

Export the full history.

  1. As a Workspace admin on Premium or Enterprise, go to Trello home, select the Workspace, then Settings > Export.
  2. Create a new export, include archived cards, and select Include raw attachments if you want the files.
  3. Download the ZIP, which holds a CSV and a JSON version of each board.

Board JSON exports include only the 1,000 most recent actions on the board, which is where comments live, so long-running boards lose older comments. Board CSV exports leave out comments and archived cards. Workspace exports cover every board, can include archived cards and raw attachments, and only Workspace admins can create them. Inbox cards have to be moved to a board before they can be exported.

The intake only needs the size, so you do not have to run an export to fill it in. You also do not need to clean or scrub an export. Polyshares handles anonymization before anything moves.

Why Trello data has value for AI training.

Trello cards move across lists as work advances, and the action history records who moved what and when, with comments along the way. That gives a clear record of how small teams run a process from request to done.

What stays private.

Workspace exports are per Workspace, so boards in a separate personal or private Workspace stay out unless you export them.

We anonymize identifying details before anything moves. Polyshares does that work, so your team does not have to scrub records first.

Your company keeps ownership of its data. The license is bounded to defined material and a defined use.

Polyshares is the buyer and pays your company directly. There is no fee or commission, and Polyshares reviews the record before it makes any offer.

Common questions about Trello data.

Can I export Trello data on the Free plan?

Yes, one board at a time as JSON. Board CSV exports and full Workspace exports need Premium or Enterprise.

Does the Trello JSON export include comments?

Yes, but only within the 1,000 most recent actions on the board. CSV exports do not include comments.

Are attachments included in a Trello export?

Exports link to attachments hosted on Trello by default. In a Workspace export, select Include raw attachments to get the files in the ZIP.
