How we handle your data.

What we take, how it is anonymized, who reviews it, and what stays with the company throughout.

What we do with your data

Nothing moves before an offer. Intake asks for record counts, not files or exports. Nothing leaves your systems until Polyshares has made an offer and you have accepted it.

Where to check: the counts-only step at /intake.

A specialist PII partner anonymizes the record first. Names, emails, phone numbers, account numbers, and addresses are removed or replaced by a specialist PII partner before Polyshares or any buyer sees the record. Roles, timestamps, and the work itself are kept.

Where to check: the de-identification block in a listing's drawer in the buyer portal.

We read a sample before pricing. Someone on the team reads the anonymized sample before Polyshares prices the record. The review is scoped to what would actually be licensed.

Where to check: the offer you receive.

The license is bounded. Defined systems, a defined term, and exclusive by default unless we agree otherwise. Nothing outside that scope is covered.

Where to check: the offer terms links in the portal, or standard license terms.

You keep the business and the data. A license is not a sale. The company keeps operating exactly as before, with the same data, the same systems, the same customers.

Where to check: standard license terms.

Buyers never see who you are. Listings are published without the company's name, website, people, or exact locations. An edit that tries to reintroduce any of those is refused before it saves.

Where to check: a listing in the buyer portal, which carries a code instead of your name.

Two people at Polyshares can see an unmasked record. Two named people are the only ones at Polyshares who see a company's identity alongside its data. Buyers see de-identified listings only.

Where to check: the team page.

A human is one email away. Questions about any of this go straight to someone on the team, not a support queue.

Where to check: nathan@polyshares.com.

What we do not do

No marketplace listing of your name. Listings are de-identified before anything is published. Buyers do not browse a list of company names.

No resale outside the license. A buyer's use is fixed by the license terms. Resale or use beyond that scope is not permitted.

No contacting your customers or staff. Polyshares licenses your own operating record. The company is never contacted by a buyer; Polyshares is the sole counterparty.

No fee to you. There is no fee and no commission on a license.

Questions

Does anyone at Polyshares see our data before it is anonymized?

No. Identifying fields, customer names, emails, and account numbers, are stripped by a specialist PII partner before Polyshares or any lab sees the record. What we review afterward is the anonymized sample, not the raw record.

What happens if the anonymized sample still contains something identifying?

The specialist partner handling anonymization is responsible for stripping identifying fields before a sample reaches us. If the partner reviewing the sample spots anything that reads as identifying, the record goes back for another pass before pricing continues.

Can a company see who anonymizes its data, or where the record ends up?

Anonymization is handled by a specialist PII partner rather than in house. Once a license is signed, we do not disclose which labs receive which record, the same way we do not disclose one client's terms to another.
