How to find and export your Amplitude data.
Amplitude counts events, not storage. Admins and managers see Events This Month and Events Last Month per project under Settings > Organization settings > Projects. Report GB if you have an S3 or Snowflake export; otherwise report total events as records and say so in your notes.
Where Amplitude shows how much you have.
- Sign in to Amplitude as an admin or manager.
- Go to Settings > Organization settings > Projects, select each project, and note Events This Month and Events Last Month.
- Open Settings > Organization Settings > Plans & Billing to confirm your plan and monthly event volume limit.
- If you already send data to Amazon S3 or Snowflake, read the total size of the Amplitude files or tables there. That is the GB figure to report.
Plan and role. Viewers and members can see project information, but only admins and managers can edit project settings and set up destinations. Billing management is open to admins and the user who bought the plan.
What to report on the Polyshares intake.
Report Amplitude in GB. The intake also asks how many years the company has used it and how many seats it has.
Report GB when you have an export: sum the size of the Amplitude files in S3 or the Amplitude tables in Snowflake. Without one, estimate total events from your monthly counts across the months you have tracked, report that as records, and write in the notes that the number is events.
Years in use starts at the first month with events in your oldest project, limited by how far back your plan keeps data. For seats, count the users in your Amplitude organization.
Export the full history.
- In Amplitude Data, open Catalog and the Destinations tab, then set up Amazon S3 or Snowflake under warehouse destinations.
- Run a manual export over your full date range to backfill history; for Snowflake, open the integration, click Export Data and select the date range.
- For a smaller pull, call the Export API with start and end hours, splitting long histories into requests of 365 days or less, and total the size of the zipped files.
How far back you can export depends on plan. Amplitude's pricing lists data access of 1 year on Free and 2 years on Plus, and unlimited on Growth and Enterprise, with custom data retention on Growth. The Export API returns zipped JSON with one event per line, covers at most 365 days per request, rejects results over 4 GB, and has data about 2 hours after Amplitude receives it.
S3 manual backfills have no size or date range limit, and Amplitude aims to export 5 million events per hour; a Snowflake backfill can take from a day to several weeks. CSV downloads from charts stop at about 10,000 rows, so they are not a full history.
The intake only needs the size, so you do not have to run an export to fill it in. You also do not need to clean or scrub an export. Polyshares handles anonymization before anything moves.
Why Amplitude data has value for AI training.
Amplitude events record what users did in a product, in order, with timestamps and properties. Years of that history show how real people move through onboarding, which features they return to and where they drop off, which is hard to rebuild from any other system.
What stays private.
User IDs, device IDs, IP addresses and any personal user or event properties are removed or replaced before anything moves.
We anonymize identifying details before anything moves. Polyshares does that work, so your team does not have to scrub records first.
Your company keeps ownership of its data. The license is bounded to defined material and a defined use.
Polyshares is the buyer and pays your company directly. There is no fee or commission, and Polyshares reviews the record before it makes any offer.
Common questions about Amplitude data.
Amplitude shows events, but the intake wants a size. What should I enter?
Enter GB if you have S3 or Snowflake exports, using their total size. Otherwise enter total events as records and note in the form that the number is events.
How far back does Amplitude keep my data?
It depends on plan. Amplitude lists 1 year of data access on Free, 2 years on Plus, and unlimited on Growth and Enterprise.
Are events beyond my event type limit lost?
No. Events past the 2,000 event types per project limit still count toward volume and cannot be charted, but Amplitude ingests them and they are available through the Export API.
